Using Ebooks to Promote your Business on Ebay

We have all seen the huge amount of Ebay listings that sell an ebook for 1p with free shipping, these types of listings are designed to beef up feedback ratings without spending to much money actually using Ebay as it was intended. Well I have been experimenting with selling ebooks for 1p with a view to increasing the traffic to my web sites and it is working reasonably well, what I do is pick a subject that is related to the theme of my web site and create a simple ebook (3-5 pages) and then include links to my own sites from within this so that 'extra' information can be obtained and hopefully they will remain a loyal visitor to my site in the future. Alternatively you can increase the pages of the ebook with some more detailed information and include your own affiliate links so that when the reader clicks on them you get a commission based on the sales that are made.

I am currently seeing about a 30% click through to my web sites from these ebooks which I feel is quite good given that the majority are simply buying for the feedback score, the way I look at things is that it is far cheaper than any other paid advertising format and can be easily adapted to take advantage of any current trends and opportunities. The key to this technique being successful for your web site is the cost, I am going to detail a good way to list these types of auctions for the minimal outlay possible. this techniques works because it is what the majority of the ebook sellers are already using now.

When listing on Ebay at a buy it now of 1p you cannot actually list more than one at a time and doing things this way will cost you 15p per listing you upload, not only this but the time it takes to keep uploading also mounts up and is time you could spend working on other aspects of your business. The way that the feedback sellers get round this is that they actually list from within their own Ebay stores which charge a one time listing fee for a large number of items. Now there is also a drawback to this method because any listings made from with an Ebay store do not actually appear in the main search listings and as such stand a chance of being missed, so what's the answer...simple combine the two techniques.

What you need to do is make one listing in standard buy it now format that will appear in the normal Ebay listings, remember to keyword the title so that it gets as much targeted exposure as possible, then create your Ebay store listings and list say 500 (or as many as you wish) in a buy it now format. What you then need to do is make the standard listing a pre approved bidders only auction, visit the Ebay PreApproveBidders link to do this, what this does is ensures that your listings stay in the search listing for the duration of the auction timings you selected. The next little trick that you need to employ is to include a link from within you standard pre approved buy it now listing that states something like "For Express Approval Please Click Here", this link should then take the viewer to your Ebay store listing that is buy it now with multiple quantities where they can buy immediately.

What I am talking about here is using the Ebay system to promote your own site in a manner that will benefit both parties, I am not promoting the spamming of the Ebay network and I would sincerely recommend that the content of the ebook is worthwhile because you are focusing on developing the reader into a visitor to your website and although the majority (70% in my trials) do not follow the links there are still 30% (or 30 people out of 100) that will and if all those 30 people spent £100 then that would be a sales return of £3,000 every time I ran the listing for an outlay of less than £10. Remember in business you need to be constantly thinking outside the box and for what it would cost to trial run the technique it has to be worth it, doesn't it?
